Logging into iSAMS for the first time
To access iSAMS use this link: https://isams.nexus.edu.sg
You will need an authenticator app on your phone, if you have one already this will most likely work but you can download from the Play Store or App Store - options include Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or Authy (more info on Authenticator Apps).
Make sure you are logged into your Nexus Google account (nexus.edu.sg)
Access the iSAMS Portal using https://isams.nexus.edu.sg. A message about pop-ups will appear - acknowledge this and then choose the option at the end of the URL address to add it to your trusted sites - permanently allowing popups for this address. Once you have done that, refresh the iSAMS page.
Choose the "Sign in via Google Workspace" Login option on the page and a message will appear asking you to check your email for a verification code - this may take a minute or two to arrive. Once received, type in to the space provided. A MFA instruction window will appear.
Use your Authenticator App to scan the QR code which will add an entry in the app (that you can rename to something appropriate - like isams or isams-niss). Type in the code into the verification box and verify - at which point iSAMS should open.
For now you will need to do that each time you open iSAMS but there is an option on the login page that allows you to defer this on a 7 day cycle.

iSAMS Training Day - 01 April 2024 - Completed
An outline of the iSAMS training on the morning of the PL day is here:
iSAMS Training 04-08 March 2024 - Completed
Please bring your laptop and your phone to the training sessions this week. There are three main objectives for the training.
Learning how to carry out tasks related to your role.
To make you aware of range of functionality and featurs of the system and how its setup impacts the school - it is unlikely that you will be carrying out all the tasks demonstrated, however it is important for you to understand how the underlying structure of the school is mirrored by the base settings in the MIS and fundamental to access, security and groupings with the system. You will investigate features of the system to understand if they are relevant to our current practices and how the control and oversight you might gain with iSAMS is different from Engage. and thus may inform changes to our existing processes. We ask that you approach this with a spirit of inquiry, exploration and enthusiasm.
There are subsequent training sessions in Term 4 and we will be asking for assistance during these sessions from those involved in this stage of the training to help deliver or assist the trainers and to help other to troubleshoot issues that might arise. This means that some of the features you will be learning in these sessions, you may be asked to teach others.
We hope that the sessions will be informative and interesting for you. Details of what training is happening each day is shown in the Training Schedule.
Throughout the sessions there may be questions that you think of or issues tha t you see with the data - please add them to this sheet: Questions & Data Issues.
